چکیده

Previous works have established the response and failure behaviour of hybrid (CFRP-GFRP) laminates when subjected to a wide range destabilising loads. However, date no focused on plates with cut-outs under shear loading quantified influence selective laminate shapes hybridisation their post-buckling response. Herein, plate collapse novel X-braced twill woven containing large circular cut-out (diameter width ratio 0.35), in-plane is investigated. The study includes baseline pure CFRP design employs both experimental numerical analysis. results illustrate that despite having less material, shaped plies exhibits greater load (+9%), buckling (1.26 compared 1.12). this comes at cost marginally lower initial (-3%). Additionally, combined analysis reveals detailed mechanism laminates, demonstrating similar but endures significantly more widespread damage matrix. • CFRP-GFRP hole, studied. show (+9%). test Experimental analyses notably

Influence of Circular and Square Cut-outs on Fiber Glass/Epoxy Composite Laminate under Tensile Loading

Use of composites for a range of structural application in aircrafts, space-crafts, automobiles, etc., has widely spread in the last few years. Other than weight reduction, cut-outs provide pathways to link different aircraft parts. In this paper, an experimental investigation was conducted to study the effect of a cut-out on the tensile strength of the fiber glass/ epoxy composite plate. Geome...

Numerical and Experimental Study on Ratcheting Behavior of Plates with Circular Cutouts under Cyclic Axial Loading

In this paper, accumulation of plastic deformation of AISI 1045 steel plates with circular cutouts under cyclic axial loading is studied. Loading was applied under force-control conditions. Experimental tests were performed using a Zwick/Roell servo hydraulic machine. Under force-control loading with nonzero mean force, plastic strain was accumulated in continuous cycles called ratcheting. Nume...

Experimental and numerical crashworthiness investigation of hybrid composite aluminum tubes under dynamic axial and oblique loadings

This research deals with axial and oblique impact crash tests on simple and hybrid composite tubes. Axial and oblique impact tests have been generated on simple and hybrid composite tubes with one, two and three layers. A drop test rig was used to conduct the experiments. Furthermore, in order to gain more detailed knowledge about the crash process, finite element simulations of the experim...

Peridynamic modeling of composite laminates under explosive loading

High velocity impact and shock or blast responses are a critical design characteristic determining sizing of composite parts and, ultimately, weight savings. This study demonstrates the applicability of peridynamics to accurately predict nonlinear transient deformation and damage behavior of composites under shock or blast types of loadings due to explosions. The peridynamic predictions correla...
